Black Cloud Week

So I haven't been writing for a while. Well, I've been in a bit of a hibernation mode. It's been a black-cloud mode for me the past little while. Last week was just one that couldn't end too quickly. It started out with a fight to release an item out of customs' hold in Mississauga, which only delayed the process further because of the need for them to examine my item. I've concluded it would be easier clearing a new Mercedes from the Middle East than it is to release a piece of used furniture from the States. A multitude of problems at my disorganized place of employment, a flat tire in rush hour Mississauga, needing yet another tow out of country snow, my dog running away after a fleeing deer and a weekend of stomach flu all topped out the week. And yes, let me point out that this virulent bug has taken my household by storm - now holding my husband in it's clutches. I'm simply left with a nagging dry cough, so we'll see where that ends up. On a good note, our dog did come back shortly after the panic. Now, I welcome the sunshine and end of this storm.

Snowman

My son and I built a snowman today. The snow was nice and heavy - just right for packing. It was the first one I had built since I was little so it brought back old memories. It's really fun to share moments like that with your child. Gives me a chance to be a kid again too...although I still am one, only much advanced in years. So tonight, my 'men' are watching Cops and I am actually having a moment alone - this first in about 2 weeks. Perhaps that's why I slightly agitated today.

Winter Wonderland

Well we got back from Tennessee last week and there hasn't been much interesting to write about lately. Just the usual hum-drum of family life. It has been like a winter wonderland around here for the past several days. It's really strange looking out the window and seeing so much snow, so early in the season. The only good thing about it is that it's helping me to get into the Christmas spirit. Because I haven't even started thinking about the dreaded shopping. I'm thinking it's time to do internet shopping this year. But first I need some ideas about what to get everyone. This is a stressful venture which makes me procrastinate even further.
